Squash Leagues, Competitions & Activities

Squash Mini Leagues

The Squash Mini Leagues run continuously (on a six week basis) from September through to June each year.  Anyone can join, just add your name and you will be playing lots of different players within weeks.  Standards vary from "very good" in the top division through to "social" in the bottom division.  There are currently 24 divisions, so there is a standard for everyone.  There are also ladies leagues and off peak leagues.

Summer League

The club's famous Summer League starts in May runs until the end of September with teams of 8 competing annually for a trophy.  The event is handicapped and new players wishing to be included should look out for the giant board that goes up in Reception in April.  New teams are formed each year and existing teams are always on the look out for new players.

Summer League matches are played on weekday evenings.

Annual Championships

The Annual Club Championship runs in Spring each year and the Annual Handicap Championship in Autumn.

Club Night and Training

Club Night is a great way to meet more players.  It runs between 7.00pm and 9.00pm every Sunday and a qualified coach is there to help.

For the more ambitious, there is more serious Squash Training every Saturday afternoon between 2.20pm and 4.20pm.

Inter-club Competitions

Hallamshire offers the oppportunity to play competitive squash against other clubs.  We have two Yorkshire League teams - one in the Premier Division and the other in Division One.  We also have four men's teams, one ladies' team and one veterans' team in the Sheffield & District Leagues.
