Squash at the Hallamshire

Since squash was introduced in the early 1970's Hallamshire has not only become renowned for its strength and depth of provision, it has also become an automatic choice of venue for major world championship events, being regular hosts for the World Masters squash championships and the British Junior Open.

With its eight courts, four of which are glass backed, Hallamshire boasts a provision that supports all squash players from the beginner wishing to get going to the professional wishing to finely tune their technique. The facilities are further strengthened by the availability of coaching at the highest professional level.

The club values very highly it's youth development strategy which is underpinned by the junior coaching programme. This programme provides an ideal foundation for juniors to maximise their individual skills and talents by helping them achieve their personal goals.

Playing opportunities...

Leagues... sign yourself up for the internal club leagues and as a new member you will automatically gain five opponents! The leagues run throughout the season with players arranging their own games.

Club night... is a great evening for beginners and old hands alike. Sundays 7.20pm - 9.20pm, with Squash coach Peter Hughes there to give guidance and lend a helping hand.

Squash training... session takes place on Saturdays 2.20pm - 4.20pm. It is better suited for competent squash players. Squash coach Peter Hughes will ensure an intense training session.
